Host Job Fair
On October 7, 2008, this SEU planned and implemented a Career Fair at the Holiday Inn Bordeaux and Convention Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The SEU solicited local businesses to participate, organized the logistical aspects of the event, advertised the event on all SEU stations and acted as a participating employer by presenting information to attendees about career opportunities in broadcasting generally as well as openings within our SEU specifically. SEU participants included the Market Manager, General Sales Manager and the Sales Assistant.

Internship Program
From January - August 2009 this SEU hosted three (3) interns, one (1) from the Universtiy of Tennessee at Martin and two (2) from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Our SEU’s goal is to give the interns a comprehensive look at our industry through hands-on experience. Whether our interns choose a career in radio or not, understanding how this medium works will greatly enhance their effectiveness in a communications-related career.
Our Marketing and Promotions Director supervises the interns. A Cumulus Intern Handbook is provided to each intern. Within the Handbook is a list of projects in each department for the intern to execute. These projects give them a chance to interface with our key managers and employees. Interns learn first-hand what drives and inspires each department and see how it all works together.

Management-level training regarding methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and prevention of discrimination
On February 5, 2009, this SEU’s Market Manager, Business Manager and Assistant Business Manager participated in a telephone conference regarding compliance with the FCC’s EEO rules as presented by our outside communications counsel.

On March 18, 2009, this SEU participated in the Methodist University Career Expo at the March F. Riddle Athletics Center on the Fayetteville, North Carolina, campus. Two of our SEU’s General Sales Managers and the Sales Assistant spoke with attendees about career opportunities in broadasting as well as job openings within the SEU and accepted resumes.

Host In-House Job Fair
On July 14, 2009, this SEU held an “Open House” open to anyone interested in learning more about radio sales as a career. Attendees were given a tour of the stations and an opportunity to discuss radio sales with station personnel. Follow-up interviews with promising candidates were scheduled on-site. The SEU also promoted this event over the air on one or more SEU stations. Station participants included the Market Manager, General Sales Manager, Account Executives and the Sales Assistant.
