Ann Mathis

It all began in 1990 with a single broken bicycle, wheeled into Moses Mathis\' garage by a neighborhood boy seeking help. \"Next thing I knew, I had a bunch of kids in my garage with bicycles to be fixed\" - Ann Mathis, wife of Moses.
Over the next 25 years, Moses became known as The Bicycle Man. In 2006 President George W. Bush awarded him the President\'s call To Service.
In 1990, Ann and Moses opened the Tiffany Pines Community Outreach Center, to help give their community\'s youth a better future. That program has since transitioned to the Bicycle Man Community Outreach Projects. Though Moses passed in 2013, Ann still carries his legacy. \" He believed every child should have a bicycle.\"
Collections begin in February, and by Christmas they are distributed to local children. Approximately 46,000 bicycles have been given out across 6 North Carolina Counties.
