Celebrating Black History: Justin Moore

Justin Moore joined the CBS 17 news team in December 2021 as the Fayetteville – Fort Bragg Bureau Reporter. 

The Rolling Fork, Mississippi native comes with more than a decade of newsroom experience. He’s the first out of his hometown to become a news reporter.

Before coming to the Sandhills, Justin spent two years in Mobile, Alabama as a reporter at WPMI NBC15 News. 

Prior to his time in the birthplace of Mardi Gras, Justin worked as a reporter at WKBW 7 Eyewitness News in Buffalo, New York. 

Justin started his career in 2009 working as a part-time multimedia journalist and chyron operator at WABG-TV in Greenville, Mississippi. Then worked as a producer at WHBQ Fox-13 in Memphis, Tennessee before returning to WABG to lead the Greenwood, Mississippi bureau in 2012.  He was featured in the short live reality show “Breaking Greenville” on TruTV.

He is a very proud graduate of Thee Jackson State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications-Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science. 

He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. 

When Justin is not telling stories, he’s traveling, enjoying new restaurants, cheering on his Jackson State Tigers or Memphis Grizzlies, spending time with family and friends, reading a good book, advocating for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and cooking.
