Celebrating Black History: Dr. Toni Stewart

Dr. Toni Stewart is the Chairwoman of the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners. Dr. Stewart is an Ohio native where she graduated from the nation’s oldest private HBCU, Wilberforce University.

Dr. Stewart was elected to the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners in 2020. In 2022 she served as the Vice-Chairwoman and was elected in 2023 as the Chairwoman of the Board of Commissioners. She also currently serves as the Vice-Chairwoman of the Cumberland County Department of Social Services.

Dr. Stewart is the Special Project Manager at True Vine Ministries. She is also a Life Coach with a niche in Leadership Coaching, Spiritual Formation, Executive Coaching, Women’s Coaching and Life Coaching, as well as Certified Mental Health Coach.

Dr. Stewart has served in the community for years advocating for the homeless, those with mental illness and for all children. She continues to be a voice for those who have been overlooked, minimized, and have lost their own voice.

Dr. Stewart released her first self-published children’s book entitled “I Believe in Me” in 2022.
